Jim Woessner, Founder & Facilitator, Threshold Workshops

Jim has made Northern California his home since 1970. To say that he has had a varied career is an understatement. Jim has a PE in nuclear engineering and has worked in engineering management, both in public and private sectors. He has worked for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and has served as Director of Nuclear Safety for Pacific, Gas & Electric. He has also worked as a management consultant with the State of Oregon on the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant, and more recently with the U.S. Army teaching quality assurance principles. In addition to and at times in parallel with these careers, Jim has worked in construction, art, writing, and personal coaching. He has facilitated o
ver 400 seminars and workshops on subjects as diverse as personal development, communications, and creativity.

In 2001 he received an MFA from Bennington College. He has had numerous poems published in literary magazines and two plays produced. In addition to facilitating the Threshold Workshops, he works fulltime as a painter and sculptor. Jim studied art in both the U.S. and Germany, and his artwork has appeared in numerous Bay Area shows, including the Sausalito Art Festival. Three of his outdoor installations can be viewed on the Sausalito waterfront. Jim is also the founder of the Artists of Issaquah, a community group whose mission is to revitalize the creative spirit of the Sausalito waterfront. Their annual show is always on the last Saturday in April. Jim's studio and gallery are on a floating home, and his art can be viewed at www.jdw-artworks.com.
